Laurie Van Hall is the former Director of Financial Operations for Pete for America. At PFA, she oversaw the Budget, Accounting, Compliance and Risk Management teams, and played an integral role in maintaining the financial health and compliance of the campaign.


Prior to joining the campaign, she was the Deputy Director of Finance and Compliance at EMILY's List, where she was responsible for drafting and filing all of the campaign finance reports at the Federal, State and Local level, as well as managing the endorsed candidate earmarking program and guiding day to day financial activity. In addition to her time at EMILY’s List, Laurie also spent two years as a Political Compliance Manager at Aristotle, Inc, where she managed a campaign finance reporting portfolio of 14+ clients, including the League of Conservation Voters and various corporate PACs. She brings over 7 years of experience drafting and filing campaign finance reports at all levels.


In addition to her passion for campaign finance compliance, Laurie is also an avid baker and adequate Peloton rider. She currently resides in Washington, DC, with her partner Dan and their rescue pup Kenobi.


Jud Brown is the former Deputy Director of Accounting for Pete For America and is a licensed CPA in Indiana. He has a Masters in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Operations Management from Indiana University. Prior to Pete for America, Jud worked in the public accounting industry for 5+ years engaging in tax consulting with clients, preparing and reviewing complex business & personal tax returns and leading a team of bookkeepers and junior accountants to prepare monthly financial statements for million dollar businesses.


While public accounting is rewarding and fulfilling for many, after the 2016 General Election Jud decided that he wanted to use his skills to help change the country for the better. He took the plunge into politics to help those whose lives could be made better, not by getting a bigger tax refund for their large business, but by helping to elect politicians who will institute policies to improve people's lives.


You can usually find Jud making quips on twitter about sports, reality television or just generally dropping CPA knowledge. He is also passionate about all things related to the Indianapolis 500, an avid Diet Coke drinker, and an enthusiast of all things Indiana.  He currently resides in Indianapolis, IN with his wife Bridget and their dog Finn.




We offer a wide range of services to meet the needs of your campaign or PAC. This usually includes drafting, reviewing, and filing your required reports with your regulatory body (FEC, Secretary of State, etc.) and maintaining your filing database by handling transaction data entry. All of these services include our guidance on the best compliance practices for your campaign or PAC.


In conjunction with our Campaign Finance Services, we are also excited to offer accounting and bookkeeping options to meet your needs. This usually includes monthly account reconciliations, and cash on hand tracking, but we also have the ability to assist with higher level functions such as processing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and 1099 preparation. All of these services include our guidance on best financial practices, internal controls, and tax obligations.
